I first discovered Frazer Parfum on Heidi Swanson’s online shop, Quitokeeto, and fell in love with the packaging. Further investigation revealed that the perfume was just as great as the packaging – in fact, incredible – and I simply had to have it for my Montecito store.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Frazer Parfum is a small perfume house that creates exquisite products using only raw, organic and sustainable materials, sourced from around the world. Founded by Tammy Frazer – her grandfather, a chemist, created Oil of Olay, and aunt and uncle, also chemists, pioneered the start of Homeopathy in South Africa – this boutique perfume house is truly unlike any other. All aspects of her products have been handmade by leading South African artists – each flacon is, amazingly, hand-blown – resulting in a quality and care that you can feel instantly.

I especially love all of the solid perfumes, created using an 18th century traditional method in which hand-gathered organic beeswax is infused with natural perfume. They are housed in hand-carved African Blackwood pincushion compacts, and both the perfume and wood only get better with age. I wear the Rose & Tuberose – and have fallen hard and fast – but love the Shea Butter as well. Without a doubt, one of my favorite new discoveries. XXJKE
