The Polka-Dot Wrap Dress, Styled by Paula Mallis
January 3, 2017

Yesterday we toured the warm, minimalist home of doula and meditation guide Paula Mallis. I also love Paula’s simple, ethereal style so we asked her to participate in our Styled By series as well. Paula instantly gravitated towards the silk, polka-dot wrap dress in the winter collection, which was inspired by one of my favorite vintage dresses. The dress is sexy and feminine, with a deep v-neckline and tie at the natural waist, and it comes in black and white. I’m not surprised Paula picked it out; it’s the perfect dress for hosting friends at home, which she does often, or going out to dinner in a casual but stylish beach neighborhood like Venice, where she lives. And I love the way she styled it with simple layered necklaces, loose natural waves, and our D’Orsay mid-heel. Learn what Paula thought of the look below and be sure to check out yesterday’s profile if you haven’t already. XXJKE
Rip & Tan: How would you describe your everyday style?
Paula Mallis: I wear white, neutral, or black. Casual, simple, chic. Feminine.
Rip & Tan: What do you wear when you want to dress up?
PM: A red lip.
Rip & Tan: What style advice or mantra do you follow?
PM: My intention is to live my life from a place of non-judgmental observation and come from a place of love for myself and others.
Rip & Tan: What do you like about this dress? How do you feel in it?
PM: I love the cut and how it hugs the body in the perfect way. I feel sexy, in the flow, and feminine.
Rip & Tan: How and where would you wear it in real life?
PM: I would wear it while entertaining at our home or leading a circle barefoot. I would dress it up for date night with my husband or out at a party by adding a sexy heel.
