Hanging Pottery

I’m always attracted to hanging pottery whether it’s for inside or out. It all started years ago when I was shopping in Palm Springs and fell in love with a vintage hanging pot with braided leather straps. I had to have it and I love the way it looks planted with succulents hanging in our tree.

TW

I recently discovered TW Pottery, by Tracy Wilkinson on Remodelista. Tracy is a Los Angeles based artist and after a long career working in fashion, she began developing a line of ceramics, lights, and dream catchers. You can view her amazing collection on Etsy. I especially like her hanging pots in white, green , and black . My friend Ambre has some hanging in her green house and they look amazing.

Michelle Quan

A couple months ago, I read about Garde on Remodelista. It’s a new gift shop that just opened on Beverly Blvd., with a great mix of home objects. I fell in love with their ceramic bells by Michelle Quan, a Canadian artist living in Brooklyn. I bought a white one and hung it in the tree above our vegetable garden. I went back after they received a new shipment and bought a similar one for the back yard. They look beautiful and make a great chime when the wind blows very hard, or if Tanner plays with them.

Stan Bitters

My husband introduced me to Stan Bitter’s work when we first met. He had a gorgeous terracotta birdhouse from Ten10 , hanging in his tree and shortly after we got together he bought me one. I love the simplicity of them and they make me happy every time I walk by them and see a little bird inside. We have one in the front courtyard and one in the back, but I also like when they are layered together in one tree, which is what our friends Jessica and Jed did with theirs. I love his terracotta birdhouses but his colored birdhouses are great too.

Pigeon Toe

I love the simplicity of Pigeon Toe Ceramics. Based in Portland, the designer – Lisa Jones – creates beautiful refined ceramics. I love their Scribble Hanging Planter and Faceted Hanging Tray to hang inside or out with succulents or other plants. I like the cleanliness of the cream ceramic hanging by leather cord tanned with vegetable-based dyes and oxidized metal rings. I also really like their Disc Birdfeeder. All of their ceramics are fired in a kiln that’s powered by renewable energy, which is amazing.

Woven Hanging Baskets

I discovered these beautiful woven baskets hanging in Ambre’s greenhouse and am really into them. Lauri got them for Ambre at Mickey Hargitay Plants. XXJKE
