A Spring Soirée at Thorne Family Farms

May 7, 2025

Last week, we gathered with friends at Thorne Family Farms in Malibu for a seasonal celebration rooted in simplicity, community, and California living. Greeted by an inviting atmosphere and rustic charm, our guests settled in for the dreamiest Sunday, featuring a handmade pasta class with Cucina Melissa, farm-fresh fare, and the most thoughtful details to tie it all together. Our Spring Soirée captured the best of the season—keep reading to relive the day with us.

A Spring Soirée at Thorne Family Farms

Pasta-Making in Malibu

As guests started arriving at Thorne Family Farms, they were led to the open-air lounge area where they could ease into the day with matcha and coffee from Sunnyday. When it came time for the class to start, guests were then led to their cooking stations where custom embroidered linen aprons awaited them. Melissa Norton of Cucina Melissa took them step by step through the art of pasta making, from creating the dough, to rolling and shaping it to perfection. All the while, they sipped on our custom Sunday Spritz—our spring take on a classic Hugo Spritz.

“There’s something so special about watching people make their own food and enjoy it together. That was the goal today—to embrace spring and connect over simple, beautiful meals.”–Melissa Norton

Dining In The Garden

After the class, guests were invited to a gorgeous spring tablescape adorned with fresh produce in the field facing Thorne Family’s Garden. On the menu, a seasonal meal crafted by Melissa herself—lemon pasta, a crisp little gem salad, and a green bean salad with fresh corn and feta. Guests enjoyed the meal as conversation flowed and the sun started to peek out from the clouds.

Sunlit Looks

The day was made even more picturesque by what everyone wore. Guests dressed effortlessly in pieces from our spring collection—from flowing silhouettes like the Peninsula Dress and Lauren Skirt to soft knits like the Cashmere Marina Crewneck and Cooper Cardigan.

A Thoughtful Send-Off

To wrap up the day, guests got to select fresh produce from the Thorne Family Farms Market—including fresh strawberries, lettuce, potatoes, broccoli, and so much more. But, that’s not all they went home with. They also took with them curated gifts including Central Coast Family Farms olive oil, Sunnyday coffee and matcha bags, and an Oak Essentials Dew Body Oil. To tie it all together, they received spring floral bundles and a Woven Raffia Tote to carry everything home—and remember the day by.
