Growing up in LA, I met Simone years ago, and we have many mutual friends. A wardrobe stylist known for her ability to both identify and establish a signature style, she began working with high-profile clients at a young age, and over the years has put together quite the resume. Along the way, she assembled an incredible collection of antique textiles and clothing, used as inspiration when designing for her clients. Unsure what she would end up doing with the pieces as she acquired them, she eventually decided to use them to make something for herself, combining her love of antique textiles and handbags. The response to her “one off” bag was overwhelming, and prompted her to launch Simone Camille, a collection of one-of-a-kind handcrafted carryalls, shoulder bags and hobos. Simone was kind enough to share a few secrets of her signature style, below. And stay tuned tomorrow as she welcomes us into her gorgeous abode. XXJKE

R+T: How would you describe your personal style?

Relaxed Californian style with a love of vintage meets a Parisian sophisticate in one combined body.

R+T: What are the five timeless pieces you could not live without?

Chanel ballet flats

button down shirts

khaki Jenni Kayne trench coat

vintage Levi’s

Lorraine Schwartz rose gold wedding ring

R+T: What are the five pieces you are loving this season?

The Row Market Bag in dusty pink suede

Jimmy Choo Marlin Boots, (but I’ve been loving them for a few seasons now).

Eres bodysuits

Elder Statesman cashmere (if we ever have fall or winter in Los Angeles)

Saint Laurent high waisted jeans

R+T: Fill in the blanks

Quality   is more important than _quantity_.

Every woman needs a _great pair of heels_.

When you cant find anything to wear, _a white tee shirt, vintage Levis_ and __chic flats__ never fail.

_Jane Birkin__ is a classic style icon that I think always got it right.

_Accessories__ can make or break an outfit.

_A great handbag_ is a worthy investment piece.

R+T: After years of working in the fashion industry and styling professionally, what are 3-5 pieces of wisdom about personal style, shopping and fashion that you consider worthy of passing on to others?

Figure out the clothing silhouettes that work for your body type and stick with it. Try not to dress for trends or shapes that aren’t you. When you feel good in what you are wearing, it shows.

Quality over quantity. (Sure Zara and H&M are easy and inexpensive, but the clothes don’t have a very long lifespan). I would suggest buying one beautifully made jacket that will last a lot longer, and is way more important to your closet, than 5 jackets that will fall apart come next fall.

Try to clean out your closet at least once or twice a year.

Spend more money on timeless classic pieces and less money on the trendy “must haves” of the season.

Have a great tailor who alters your clothes for your body.
