The Inspiration Behind My Spring 2017 Collection
Spring is always an opportunity to shed layers, but this season I was inspired to pare down and simplify even further. We looked to West Coast modernist architecture and the idea of warm minimalism when designing this collection. The line features clean silhouettes, natural colors, and soft fabrics. From cropped pants cut in delicate silk to deck shoes reimagined as wearable slides, every piece is designed to be simple, functional and special.
Organic textures and neutral tones were a focus as we curated our home and accessories collection as well. Handmade pottery, natural leather trays, woven raffia bags and shoes, and sculptural jewelry are just a few of the distinctive items we were drawn to. To me, these pieces bring balance to my Spring 2017 collection and create a complete look for your home and wardrobe that feels both modern and effortless.
See some of my favorite pieces in our Spring 2017 collection video, shot in the incredible Schindler House in Los Angeles. And stay tuned over the next several weeks as we show you how to wear key pieces in the collection and interview the makers behind some of the home items we’ll be carrying this season. There are so many things to fall in love with; I can’t wait to share them all with you. XXJKE
