New Year’s Eve Style Made Simple

September 12, 2025

A woman in a black outfit sits on a cushioned bench against a white wall, next to a glass vase with leafy branches on a wooden crate. The minimalist setting with wooden flooring hints at quiet New Years Eve reflections.

One of my favorite pieces in our winter collection is this floor-length silk dress. It was inspired by a vintage slip with lace detailing at the neck and shoulders. I love how romantic and old-world it feels, without being too retro to work today. We made it in solid black with holiday parties—specifically New Year’s Eve–front of mind.

I love to dress up during the holidays, but I think simple is the way to go. A silk top and crepe pants, or a dress like this one, and a pair of leather flats (our ankle-strap mules shown here) are all you need to stand out. Maybe you wear a little bit of makeup, or use a hair pin or barrette to give the look a proper finish.

Unlike most black gowns this dress works beyond parties too. I love it worn with a cashmere cardigan and flats or boots for a cozy dinner or movie night. You could also take it on a warm-weather vacation and wear it with simple sandals and some jewelry to explore your locale. XXJKE
