Jenni’s Inspiration Behind Our New Mid Equestrian Boot
February 22, 2017

I love horses and have been riding my whole life—these days with my daughter Ripley at Sullivan Canyon—so naturally, riding boots and other equestrian-inspired designs have made their way into my collection over the years. It doesn’t hurt that the equestrian uniform is so elegant and classic, either. This season, I wanted to do a new take on our classic calfskin riding boot – something a bit shorter that would look really great with the romantic dresses in my collection. The result is our new Italian leather Mid Equestrian Boot, which comes in striking black and saddle brown.
I love the height of the boot, which hits just above the ankle, because it feels a little more formal than a typical ankle boot, and somehow cooler too. I love the gap you get around the top of the boot when you see it from the side; it almost resembles a Wellie in that way. The other aspect I’m really proud of is how beautiful the leather is, that ensures the boots will look better, not worse, as they get worn in and beat up a bit. You might start wearing them with cropped denim and knits instead of lace dresses and skirts once they really break in, but you’ll still wear them often. At least that’s the hope! XXJKE
