As a lover of dogs and all things beautiful and well made, it’s no surprise that I’ve done my fair share of searching for the best products available. Admittedly, my dogs (Chachi and The Dude) are pretty spoiled, but with the amount of love they bring into our home, I wouldn’t have it any other way. From bowls to beds, here are some of my favorites:
Bowls
In terms of bowls, my all-time favorites are from Heath, but they can be hard to come by. Some other beautiful and durable options: this Farm Dog Bowl from Farmhouse Pottery, this hand-finished stoneware bowl from Kauffman Mercantile, this blue stripe pottery bowl from Mast General Store, this personalized rimmed bowl from Stoneware, and this powder coated steel bowl with tag from Garden Trading.
On The Go
I’m a big fan of all things Filson, so I of course love their products for dogs, including this water-repellant, nylon-lined collapsible dog bowl, and this shorter version, which are great for on the go. Other nice portable options include this waxed canvas travel bowl with brass snap hook from Kauffman Mercantile, this canvas collapsible water bowl from Found My Animal, and this waterproof food storage bag from Harry Barker.
Also from Filson: this K-9 First Aid Kit, this water-resistant foam core travel mat, and this travel set, which includes a leather leash, travel bowl and small dry bag.
Collars
Some of my very favorite products for dogs are from Found My Animal, and their collars are no exception. I’m always drawn to the classic neutrals, but they now offer some beautiful brights and ombre options that are really nice as well.
Some other picks: this latigo leather collar in black from Kauffman Mercantile, this bridle leather collar in black, brown and natural from Filson, and this quick release tan leather and brass collar from Nickey Kehoe.
Leads
As with collars, Found My Animal has a beautiful selection of leads, and I also like this latigo leather option from Kauffman Mercantile, this braided leather lead from Nickey Kehoe, this bridle leather lead in a variety of neutrals from Filson, and this cotton rope lead from Amazon.
Harnesses
Once again, Found My Animal has a great selection in this department, but I also like this three-point bridle leather harness with brass hardware in an array of neutrals, from Filson.
Food Storage
Years ago, I unfortunately learned the importance of proper dog food storage the hard way, after discovering that some unwelcome animals were getting into it. For functional storage that looks great, my favorites are from Garden Trading, including this powder coated steel bin in small and medium, as well as this round version in small and large.
Also great: from Harry Barker, these French bistro-inspired Bon Chien recycled steel storage canisters, and these classic recycled steel canisters, both in a variety of sizes.
Beds
My good friend Amanda makes gorgeous dog beds out of old rugs and linen and has them scattered around her house. She taught me how to make them myself using old, distressed rugs from the flea market, stuffing them with down and using linen or burlap for the bottom (any good upholsterer can help you do this). It’s a technique that I’ve implemented around my home and love, but for ready-made options, I really like this linen, rope and solid brass bed from Found My Animal, this durable bed with removable cover from Filson, this canvas option with removable cover from Nickey Kehoe, and these customizable vintage stripe envelope dog beds from Harry Barker.
Grooming
Good grooming tools are a must, and this double-sided beechwood dog brush and stainless steel and beechwood grooming kit are some favorites.
Chews & Toys
Our dogs love rope toys, and I love the way they look. Some picks: this Natural Rope Knot Tug in Natural and white, this Tug O Rope double knotted toy, and these cotton rope tug and toss toys in a variety of colors from Harry Barker.
For other options, I like this three knot hemp rope toy, this jute tug toy and two handled jute tug toy, this fused leather tug toy, and this rope and leather duck toy.
Another favorite toy in our house are antlers – our dogs love to chew them and they make the ultimate bone. Some to try: these split antlers for medium and large dogs from Amazon, these ones for medium and X large dogs from Etsy, and this antler rope chew.
And for other natural options, I like this hemp and rawhide chew, this natural tug with cow bone, and this one for smaller dogs. XXJKE
