New at Jenni Kayne: Vintage Moroccan Rugs
March 19, 2017

Vintage Moroccan rugs in soft, neutral tones have been a staple in my own home for years. I love the way these beautiful pieces add life and history to a room. I tend to layer them for added warmth and textural interest; an easy process because the artfully simple patterns can be mixed and matched ad infinitum. I’m very excited to share that we are now carrying these heirloom-quality rugs in our stores and online as well! Our home goods are curated around pieces that I personally use and love so they were a natural addition to our assortment.
Our collection of one-of-a-kind rugs date back to the ’40s and ‘50s and were hand woven by the Berber tribe, also known as the Beni Ourain, who settled in the Atlas Mountains region of Morocco. The Berber craftsman—mostly women—are known for their neutral colors and simple patterns, many of which are based around diamond shapes. They also use high-grade, shaggy pile wool sourced from the livestock in the region, which makes the rugs incredibly comfortable underfoot.
As of this week you’ll find larger vintage Moroccan rugs on our website and at all Jenni Kayne locations, along with the Berber tribes’ “Haik” blankets. Runner-size rugs are also available exclusively in our stores! If you’ve been looking for a stylish way to update your space this spring, I recommend checking them out! XXJKE
