Behind the Scenes of Lauren Lane’s Timeless Living Room Redesign
August 19, 2022
With baby number two on the way, Bachelor alum and notable lifestyle name Lauren Lane is fully leaning into the urge to nest. No stranger to the whirlwind that life can be—whether she’s prepping for the launch of a new spirits brand, joining her husband, Chris Lane, on tour, or managing the day-to-day of modern motherhood—Lauren’s recently redesigned living room is the epitome of ease, where serenity and livability come together seamlessly. Grounded by warm earth tones, elevated with crisp neutrals, and plenty of Jenni Kayne Home, it offers a fresh perspective on everyday living—and we’re giving you a first look at her inspired space.

Behind the Scenes of Lauren Lane’s Timeless Living Room Redesign
Rip & Tan: From the music scene to the abundance of nature, we can imagine that Nashville would be an endless source of inspiration. How have your surroundings influenced your personal style and interior design sensibilities?
Lauren Lane: Nature has always been a source of inspiration. Growing up in Oregon and now living in Nashville I’ve been surrounded by plenty of lush greenery my whole life and I think because of that I have always been drawn to earth tones.
I’m definitely happiest outdoors and Nashville has so much natural beauty to offer. Because our life is heavily rooted in the music scene with Chris being an artist, I’ve found even more so than ever, that I want our home to feel serene and calm. I love a soft, bright aesthetic—it helps things feel bright and airy even during the winter months and summer thunderstorms.
Rip & Tan: What was the biggest draw to this new home? How is it different from your first Nashville residence?
Lauren Lane: This is the first home I’ve ever owned. We moved in almost three years ago. It was about 85 percent complete by a builder who was about to list it. We knew there would aesthetically be things we wanted to change to make it more custom and personal to us but the floor plan was perfect for us and our desire to one day start a family.
We’ve now grown into it a little more and are starting to make some furniture changes to the space while also completing a kitchen remodel, which was probably a little bit crazy considering we have a toddler and I’m 30 weeks pregnant!

Rip & Tan: What was your vision for this redesign?
Lauren Lane: Our home faces north/south so we don’t get extreme, bright sunlight even with our large-scale windows. I wanted the space to feel brighter, more inviting with plenty of seating, be baby and kid-friendly (no sharp corners!), and most importantly, feel timeless and slightly more traditional to match the architecture and style of the actual home.
Rip & Tan: With baby number two on the way, has your growing family changed the way you approach interiors? Any planned updates in preparation for a party of four?
Lauren Lane: Some might think we are crazy for our lighter living room rug and linen furniture, but having the chaos that is a toddler and soon to be another baby makes me appreciate calming decor that much more.
Aside from our kitchen renovation, we will be moving our son upstairs to his new big boy room I’m piecing together and making some changes to the nursery for our newest addition to the family!

Rip & Tan: How do you know when a room is complete, if ever?
Lauren Lane: I think my husband would love it if I said our room is complete. I definitely have noticed my interior spaces shift depending on the season of life we are in or my mood.
I will say, we chose very timeless pieces that can be styled in so many different ways with fun pillows, books, lamps, and so forth, which are all easy and fun changes to make as time goes on!
Rip & Tan: By nature, your day-to-day demands a connection to the digital world. What are some of your favorite ways to unplug while you’re at home in this space?
Lauren Lane: Our living room is our hangout space. We spend pretty much all of our time in here and in the kitchen! It’s where we hang out as a family and spend quality time as a couple once our son is in bed.
It’s extremely important to us both to unplug and be fully present with how fast-paced life feels at times. There have already been so many memories made in this home and I can’t wait to make many more.
