Gift List: How Kendall Knox Gifts with a Collector’s Eye
November 20, 2023
We’re back with Gift List—the series in which we ask some of the most thoughtful tastemakers we know to share the items they’re gifting this season—and for our next installment, we’re calling on none other than Olive Ateliers co-founder Kendall Knox—because if there’s anyone we trust with a well-curated collection, it’s the woman behind Los Angeles’ most-coveted vintage drops. Read on for everything she’s giving and why.

Gift List: How Kendall Knox Gifts with a Collector’s Eye
Rip & Tan: How would you describe your typical approach to thoughtful holiday gifting?
Kendall Knox: I’m a planner. Throughout the year, I tend to buy items, objects, gifts, etc to use when the time comes. I also try where possible to purchase products that are useful, or age gracefully, so the recipient can get endless use from the item and the gift is less likely to date or end up discarded once the holiday season ends.
Rip & Tan: When in doubt, what’s the perfect crowd-pleasing stocking stuffer?
Kendall Knox: When in doubt, cozy, comfy, sustainable slippers are the answer. I like to slip on the Shearling Moroccan Slipper when I am walking around the house for added comfort.

Rip & Tan: What are you eyeing for yourself this year?
Kendall Knox: Every holiday season I tend to treat myself to a Jenni Kayne sweater or two, this season I’m eyeing the Cashmere Amelia Crewneck and the Merino Finley Cardigan.
Rip & Tan: Any tips for gifting to the person who seems to have everything?
Kendall Knox: I might be biased, but a vintage breadboard from Olive Ateliers is the perfect addition to any home or kitchen. Line with parchment paper to serve your famous holiday charcuterie spread, or as a platform in the powder room for your Oak Essentials favorites.
Rip & Tan: What are you most looking forward to this holiday season?
Kendall Knox: Laying low, staying cozy and eating great food with my family. You better believe I’ll be rugged up on the couch in my Saturday Sweatpants every day.
