The Jenni Kayne Farmhouse: Backyard & Garden Reveal
July 29, 2024

While the interiors at the Farmhouse are awe-inspiring, the spaces we curated in the outdoors are what really make our Upstate escape unlike anything else. From the lush garden that features botanicals found in Oak Essentials products to the pool that’s perched within the serene landscape, read on for all of the details that make the outdoors at the Farmhouse just like a dream.

The Process
The Farmhouse isn’t the Farmhouse without the surrounding landscape that makes it feel perfectly inspired. So, when it came time to curating an outdoor scene, the hardest part was already complete. Our job? Highlight the Hudson Valley and all of its inherent beauty.
With the pool already in place, we set out to create the wellness details. For our design team, the focus was to make the entire backyard—and Oak Essentials Wellness Club—feel incredibly special. But that didn’t come without its own set of challenges. Take, for instance, the effort of adding in a custom greenhouse, and finding the perfect destination to place the Wood fired hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge. We wanted the greenhouse to feel like on its own escape, so we situated it out in nature a bit away from the main house.
Next, we found an area to the side of the pool that we thought was perfect for the Wood fired hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge—a trio of wellness. We wanted these three near each other and to function as their own moment, so we enclosed the area with some trees and perennials.
To the side of the pool, we added a garden bed with botanicals and herbs that you can go to for inspiration in the kitchen.
The Details
In terms of the details, it all starts with the AlumiTub Cedar hot tub and sauna and cold plunge from Redwood Outdoors. We worked with Gothic Arch Greenhouses to custom design our spa-centric greenhouse and planted wildflowers all around to bring it to life.
For the outdoor moments, our expertly-crafted furniture came into play. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner around the Outdoor Garden Table, Outdoor Garden Bench, and cocktail hour is best held sitting on the Outdoor Vista Sofa.
Sunny days are well spent on the Outdoor Vista Lounge Chairs, and in quieter moments you’ll find us sitting in the Outdoor Brentwood Chair and Ottoman.
