Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: When we give gifts, we like to offer something that the recipient would really enjoy but might not typically buy for themselves. Often, people focus on practicality or necessity rather than personal desire. However, choosing that perfect item for someone, knowing it will bring them joy, makes the act of giving even more meaningful.

Rip & Tan: When in doubt, what’s one gift any mother would love?

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: For us, it has to be the Cashmere Cocoon Sweater from Jenni Kayne. Chloe bought me a gorgeous Ivory Cashmere Cocoon Sweater for Mother’s Day one year and I was over the moon! I’d admired hers before and let her know how much I adored it. It’s just so lovely and versatile. 

Rip & Tan: Any gift ideas for new moms or expecting mothers?

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: For new moms, we would suggest getting them a food delivery service, such as Sakara Life, for a few weeks. This is such a helpful gift during those first few weeks when life is a blur of sleepless nights and sweet moments with your newborn.

Rip & Tan: What are some fresh new ways we can treat the moms in our life this year? 

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: Quality time and new experiences are always appreciated. Whether it’s spending time with family or being treated to something special, it creates cherished memories.

With younger children, it could be as simple as enjoying a special breakfast in bed followed by a walk or hike together. As for my mom, I know she enjoys anything related to food, so a special brunch or dinner is always at the top of her wishlist.

Rip & Tan: As a mother, what’s a gift you’d love to receive? 

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: Since we live in different countries, it is time with my daughter that is the most precious.

I also like anything for the home as I love decorating my space with special pieces. A cozy throw or the Topanga Candle is my all-time favorite. Chloe has bought it for me many times.

Rip & Tan: As a daughter, what’s one thing you perhaps wouldn’t gift again? 

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: I wouldn’t give a gift card again, since it doesn’t feel very personal. Experiences are definitely more intimate and valuable.

Rip & Tan: What does this holiday mean to you? How do you plan on celebrating?

Trudy Crane and Chloé Crane Leroux: We wrote a cookbook this past year and have spent so much time talking about food, entertaining, and hosting. We love to gather family and friends, set a beautiful table, and cook a delicious meal. For both of us, this magical experience of preparing a meal together brings so much joy and we can not wait to spend this time together.
