What’s Inside Our Ojai-Inspired Summer Gift Box
July 5, 2016

Our seasonal gift boxes are one of my favorite new traditions we have at Jenni Kayne. They’re filled with gorgeous home accents, beauty essentials, and dry goods that tie back to the inspiration for our apparel collection. It’s a chance for me to share some of my favorite items from special brands, and generally celebrate the people and places that inspire me as a designer.
This summer, Ojai, California and the idea of New Americana inspired us. Ojai’s citrus groves, wildflower fields, and breathtaking views of the Topatopa Mountains made the perfect backdrop for our summer catalog shoot. The collection’s relaxed take on patriotic style looked soft and natural surrounded by so much lush greenery. That said, filling our summer box with likeminded items was easy. From the Norden candle that aims to capture the scent of Ojai in its soy wax formula, to Michele Quan’s rope-tied ceramic bell, which would feel at home on the rustic porch of the Thatcher House, where we stayed while we were in town, everything in the box goes back to Ojai and the idea of New Americana in some way. Even if you’ve never visited the area, I think you’ll find these items capture summer’s relaxed, easygoing style perfectly. XXJKE
