In terms of form meeting function, nothing embodies the art more fully than a well-executed kitchen design—whether it’s storage that becomes a design moment in itself or unexpected finishes that elevate every moment. Over the course of our many home tours, we’ve seen the best of the best, and while it’s impossible to pick a favorite, we’ve managed to narrow down a select few that we can’t seem to get out of our minds. Read on to see exactly why.

Jenni Kayne
Every room inside Jenni’s iconic Mandeville Canyon home is meant to inspire slow living—especially the kitchen. With wide windows and a central island that serves as the focal point of her space, togetherness is made central while foundational elements like upholstered linen chairs, a solid wood dining table, and minimalist counter stools tie it all together.
Jenni’s love for seasonal living connects the kitchen to its surroundings: weeknight dinners flow from the kitchen island to the vibrant yard, centerpieces are arranged in the garden, and gatherings are planned with the same elevated nature that every kitchen detail brings.

Courteney Cox
The kitchen is the heart of every home. That’s certainly the case with Courteney Cox’s Malibu retreat. Overlooking the ocean, her space is one of the most idyllic places to go to for a laid-back dinner party, celebratory evening, or casual weekend.
Working with designers Trip Haenisch, Cliff Fong, and, most recently, Clements Design, Courteney chose to forgo the beach house archetype of bright whites and blues, opting instead for darker, moodier moments. The informal yet elevated nature of her design choices ensures guests are always at ease, while rich tones and unique collectible pieces are mixed in faultlessly.
With everyday entertaining as the focus, the relaxed family room connects the kitchen to the outside to give friends and family the ability to lounge as Courteney cooks. It’s quintessential California living—and a place you come to and never want to leave.

The Jenni Kayne Ranch
The kitchen at the Jenni Kayne Ranch is a multi-purpose space that works in sync with Jenni’s effortless design ethos—and every detail proves as much. With light pooling into the open floorplan, we were inspired by our surroundings every step of the way.
Drawing on neutral tones and elevated textures, the kitchen is outfitted with honed natural stone countertops (Casper White from Stoneland, which add movement and a lived-in quality), Plain English cabinetry, vintage pendants above the island, and our favorite feature: a sliding window that opens up to the exterior so you can pass things through as you’re cooking.
Designed to serve as a space for intentional living, we made sure to focus on everyday details that brought people together: we built a custom dining nook that we styled with our Trestle Table and Hampton Dining Chair, while the island and shelves welcome our Pacific Dinnerware and other accessories for in-the-moment entertaining.

Nancy Newberg
Nancy Newberg’s kitchen is an encapsulation of what a great space can be: warm, inspiring, and always inviting. Her light-filled Spanish-style home is simultaneously modern and traditional, and it’s this space of constant reinvention that allows each room to feel complete.
Nancy’s home is decidedly similar to the jewelry she designs: current yet timeless, neutral and detailed, all with a touch of texture. In the kitchen, this results in effortless additions of contrast that work off of softer moments to bring a comfortable and intimate minimalist feel. From her treasured pottery collection that fills the shelves and the light fixtures that provide a modernist touch to the cozy kitchen nook that cultivates togetherness, the kitchen is a gathering place for all of life’s moments.

Studio LIFE/STYLE
When it comes to kitchens, there’s one we can’t help but think of time and time again: that of the Brentwood home designed by the duo behind Studio LIFE/STYLE, a Los Angeles-based firm with an eye for creating enviable interiors.
Grounded in dynamic neutrals and natural tones that catch your eye without doing too much, the space can be best described as effortlessly Californian. Leather chairs work alongside stone and organic wood, while colorful moments aim to complement the bright and airy aesthetic. The design blends utility and style seamlessly with seating that aims to serve a purpose for any type of gathering—whether it’s a celebrated dinner or a quick coffee before heading out the door, the space all but ensures an elevated, comfortable, and familial approach to everyday living.
