Read on for our complete sourcebook on white paints.

Our Complete Guide to the Best White Paints
Off-Whites & Traditional Tones
White Cliffs and Mont Blanc from Portola Paints are two classic shades in the world of white paints. White Cliffs is a clean white while Mont Blanc offers a creamy, antique white paint look—both top our list as two of the best white paints.
Pointing is a slightly warmer white from Farrow & Ball that epitomizes the power that paint has to change an entire room.
Pure White from Benjamin Moore is an off-white paint with a touch of cooler undertones. Used in Jenni’s Lake Tahoe home (pictured right), this shade pops against the exterior moments on the lake.
James White is another go-to from Farrow & Ball. This off-white paint shade works in great contrast with moodier furniture and accessories that need a lighter, brighter touch.
All White from Farrow & Ball is a traditional white that adds a fresh flair to each and every room. We used this shade in the Jenni Kayne Lake House (pictured above and below), and it completely elevated the space while enhancing the colors of our lush surroundings.

Neutral & Warmer Tones
Gem from Portola Paints is a classic color in the Jenni Kayne lexicon. Used in our CEO Julia Hunter’s Mandeville Canyon home (pictured left), this slightly earthy shade of white brings any room immediate life.
Figueroa is a warm off-white paint from Portola Paints that gives off a perfectly neutral yet inviting air.
Dimity from Farrow & Ball is a softer and subdued neutral color that brings added depth to each room it fills. Its casual look is well-suited for any type of space.
White Dove is a shade that pairs perfectly with a room that’s after a more traditional aesthetic. This white dove paint color from Benjamin Moore is not as crisp as the classic white shades, yet it infuses a space with an elevated air.
Gray & Cool Tones
Stone 1 and Stone 2 from Portola Paints form a gradient of white that’s versatile and tonal.
Feather, which is pictured right and below, is a limewash paint by Portola Paints that colors our very own Meaghan Cox’s living room. This non-white compliments all warmer wood tones easily, making it a must in our books.
Strong White from Farrow & Ball is a gray-based white that’s equally modern and classic. Its cooler undertones ground a room with a distinct point of view that’s entirely refined.
Alaskan Husky is a neutral shade from Benjamin Moore that we love in bedrooms due to its soothing and serene look. This versatile color can take on new hues depending on the light, constantly giving a space room to grow and transform.
Steam from Benjamin Moore is a softer shade of white paint with gray undertones. We love its ability to contain a room’s look and feel without being overbearing.
