The Great is Off-Duty Style, Perfected

One of the reasons I think Emily Current and Meritt Elliott have enjoyed so much success since they started working together in 1999—as celebrity stylists, designers, and brand consultants—is that they’ve always had a strong sense of who they are. Their new clothing line, The Great, is comprised of dreamy basics, vintage-inspired denim, and breezy dresses that epitomize effortless California style. Not only do I respect them as creative peers, I also love the clothes themselves.

The Great’s simple, vintage-soft T-shirts are a favorite of mine. They’re the kind of perfectly executed basic you reach for over and over again in your closet. They make every outfit a little bit cooler. And obviously, their jeans are on another level with their execution of flattering, cool fits. We carry The Great’s Nerd Jean at Jenni Kayne stores, which is the perfect mid-rise and cropped-with-a-kick ankle. It’s made in the kind of true-blue denim you can really only find in vintage stores. They’re basically all I want to wear.

Check out The Great’s summer collection, and don’t miss our tour of Emily and Meritt’s Los Angeles homes from earlier this week. XXJKE
