Gift List: Interior Designer Paige Pettit’s Edited Approach

Rip & Tan: What’s your approach to holiday gifting?

Paige Pettit: I always try to gift something thoughtful from the perspective of who I am gifting for. Maybe it’s something they wouldn’t normally buy for themselves, I try to look at their specific interests and find something special that would be meaningful to them.

Rip & Tan: Any go-to pieces you keep on hand for helpful last-minute gifting?

Paige Pettit: I always try to keep something like a nice candle, a charcuterie and cheese knife set, or maybe a nice vase or set of champagne glasses.

I think it’s nice to gift things that people don’t necessarily need to have displayed in their home all the time since everyone has different tastes and styles.

Rip & Tan: What are some items you’re gifting for loved ones this year?

Paige Pettit: Jenni Kayne Cashmere Overcoat in Camel: This luxe cashmere coat is such a beautiful and timeless piece.

Anastasio Home’s Box Tray in Travertine: This chic tray is made out of travertine and features a scalloped edge detail that looks great styled almost anywhere.

Staub Round Cocotte 7 Qt: The perfect gift for the home cook, the Staub Cocotte is so versatile and is a piece that will last a lifetime.

Rip & Tan: Do you have any tried-and-true sources for seamless gifting?

Paige Pettit: Some of my favorite places to source for gifts (other than Jenni Kayne of course) would be March SF, Hawkins New York, Aerin, Moda Operandi, Net-a-Porter, and Mr. Porter for men’s gifts.

Rip & Tan: What are you eyeing for yourself this season?

Paige Pettit: I’ve had my eye on a couple classic designer handbags for the past couple of years, another item that’s been on my list is the Cannelle reversible shearling jacket in the color Stone from Arje, so luxe and cozy for the winter season, and I love that you can wear it two different ways.

Rip & Tan: What are you the most excited about for the holiday season?

Paige Pettit: This holiday season will definitely be the most special as we are expecting our first baby in December! We’ll be keeping everything very low-key and simple, but I’m especially excited to set up the Christmas tree and spend some cozy days and nights in front of the fireplace.
