Floral Place Settings with Moon Canyon Design

February 16, 2016

A place card with the name Jenni in cursive rests on a bundle of herbs and dried flowers, tied with twine, atop a plate in warm sunlight.

Earlier this week, I shared all of the design details from my birthday dinner. One of my very favorites: the individual arrangements that Kristen of Moon Canyon created for each place setting. A gorgeous mix of wild grass, echinacea pod, wild boxwood, millet, and rosemary, they had a decidedly late summer/early fall feel, and served to not only add beautiful color to the table, but also to hold each name card. What’s more, they were the perfect parting gift for guests, as they could be taken home to dry.

To assemble, Kristen chose a small bundle of blooms and herbs from the garden – an assortment that complemented each other and would dry well – and tied it with a piece of twine. Once tied, she gave it a fresh cut at the bottom for a clean look. The result: a beautiful, earthy and fragrant arrangement that could last long after your next get-together. XXJKE
