3 Recipes That Every Festive Gathering Needs
November 10, 2022
With so much seasonal festivity to look forward to, it’s natural to feel that familiar twinge of pre-entertaining stress–but let this be a relief for all hosts-to-be: at the end of the day, the holidays boil down to a feeling, and not one that comes from grand gestures or perfectly planned parties. Rather, it’s the small moments of thoughtfulness your guests will remember for seasons to come—like a holiday drink handcrafted with care or a dessert that conjures up the fondest of memories. As an ode to the seasonal details, we asked Melissa Norton to share three recipes—a s’mores showstopper that just might be one of our favorite fall dessert recipes, a pumpkin spice latte recipe, and a spiced hot toddy—cultivated with all things festive and elevated in mind.
3 Recipes That Every Festive Gathering Needs
Fireside Fig S'mores
Not all fall dessert recipes are created equal—and that much is proven to be true when you try a bite of the Fireside Fig S’mores from Melissa Norton. Featuring gluten-free ingredients that are seasonally sourced and perfectly sweet, this flavorful dessert is one every guest is bound to love.
Here’s a tip: create a s’mores buffet and let your guests add more toppings once the base is made. Add berries, nuts, chocolate chips, and more—the opportunities are endless, and so is the wow-worthy factor.

Pumpkin Spice Latte & Spiced Hot Toddy
For the seasonal beverages, we asked Melissa for an elevated take on the pumpkin spice latte—plus one of Jenni’s favorites: a hot toddy. The beauty of winter-ready drinks is that you can really tailor them to every guest’s preferences. Eager for a spiked variety? Add in something extra for the adults. Want to go easy on the spice? Nix that part and let the other flavors shine.
We love brewing these drinks in larger batches before hosting to let the aromas fill the room. When guests arrive, turn the stove back on and start serving with ease.
