Color Story: Nautical Knots
February 13, 2016

As we ease into summer, I wanted to share my picks for the season’s best moments in nautical knots. I adore this aesthetic – whether vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard or staying at home, you simply can’t go wrong!
Accessories
For accessories, I’m really into this ivory and navy canvas tote from Haus Interior, and these key chains from Stonk Knots – I have the monkey fist in cream and love it. And this time of year, I can’t resist a traditional sailor knot bracelet.
Dogs
You probably already know how much I love knots from my Dog Post, but in case you missed it, I’ll share again! Found my Animal makes the most wonderful woven rope collars and leashes which I just began selling in both of my stores – or you can order them online. For toys, I love Harry Barker’s Rope Toy in natural and Mungo and Maud’s Tugg Toss Toy or Rope Dog Toy.
Home
For around the house, Terrain makes a beautiful rope pull that I just love. Last year, I found these great towel rings on Remodelista, but they were already sold out. Happily, I recently discovered similar ones on Etsy and Stonk Knots. If it works for you, another great way to incorporate ropes into your home is through rope banisters – they are perfect for a beach house. If not, a great alternative are these Curtain Tiebacks, also from Stonk Knots.
For trivets, I love these natural woven ones from Etsy, and these ones from Sakai which I carry in my store and can also be found online through Nickey Kehoe. If you are feeling really brave, here is a how to for making a gorgeous one of your own.
Some of my favorite products for the home are these amazing rope door stops, which I also carry in my stores – they are both beautiful and functional and I have them all over my house. These are similar but in white, and I also like these from Etsy. And lastly for your powder room, these nautical soaps are just adorable! XXJKE
