Unconventional Arrangements with Bloom & Plume
Maurice at Bloom & Plume is one of our favorite florists for his constant reinvention of the bouquet. His floral compositions range from the traditional to the not-so, and over an afternoon at Jenni’s, he put together a few arrangements of the latter camp, featuring our new leather rivet vases.
Glass vessels are wrapped in leather with accents of antique brass—a perfect pair to any arrangement. Our handcrafted leather is treated with the artisanal craft of vegetable tanning, a chemical-free, environmentally friendly way to maintain leather’s natural texture in warm, neutral, earthy tones. The organic materials used in this process contain tannins that lend a unique characteristic to each piece. A rich patina will develop over time, making each vase unique and ever-changing.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all roses—in fact, we encourage you to deviate a bit and try your hand at something unconventional. Maurice built lush and verdant arrangements, playing with scale and height to create an aura of abundance. Our large leather rivet vase, in saddle leather, held sprawling spirea greens, gunni eucalyptus, nandina fern and wheat pampas grass. A more modest arrangement fit the medium leather natural vase, featuring heather, straw flower and another welcome appearance of eucalyptus. The soothing, slightly earthy smell of the unbridled foliage perfectly complemented the subtle, earthy scent of natural leather, making for an inviting aroma. We love how versatile these vases are—they make a great base to display all your best blooms on a bedside, bookshelf or tabletop.
