An Easter Egg Hunt with Amy Blessing
There are few holidays kids seem to enjoy as much as Easter. I love getting into the spirit, and coming up with ways to create even more fun. The past two years my good friend and go-to crafting guru Amy Blessing helped put on a chic easter egg hunt. They were so successful we decided to make it an annual event.
My sister hosted the soiree in her garden, which was filled with hand-painted eggs for hunting, naturally. The kids donned adorable and stylish bunny ears, which Amy knit herself using pearls as decor. We all got into the egg decoration, and gathered around the beautiful centerpieces Amy put together using fresh spring blooms from the market downtown, along with faux eggs, moss and bark. We set the table with Heather Taylor Home napkins, a natural burlap tablecloth, and stools from Fire & Creme.
When it came time for the little ones to collect their eggs, they did so in rustic burlap bags Amy customized with white acrylic paint. The hunt was a thrill, but the hit of the party seemed to be the DIY treats. We decorated Sweet Laurel cookies with white, gold and blush–hued frosting, and sipped on matching kid-sized Almond Mylks from Renew Juicery. The children also went home with their own egg crafting kits. I’m already excited to see what Amy and I come up with next year. XXJKE
