Cherry Margarita Cocktail Recipe

I can always count on Annie Campbell to create the most delicious and inventive sips, and the theme-perfect one that she provided for our Cherry Party was no exception. Her Cherry Margarita (she had me at Margarita, but sealed the deal with the addition of muddled farmers market cherries) was as pretty as it was yummy, and just the right amount of sour and sweet. Cherry Margarita Recipe

Ingredients for the Agave Syrup

  • 1 cup 237 ml agave
  • 1 cup 237 ml water

Ingredients for the Cocktail

  • 1/4 lb 1/8 kg cherry pitted (or 1/2 cup)
  • 3 oz 85 g lime juice fresh
  • 3 oz 85 g agave syrup
  • 6 oz 170 g tequila silver

To make agave syrup

Boil 1 cup water. Add boiling water to 1 cup agave and stir until dissolved. Let cool. Can be refrigerated for up to a month.

To make the cocktail

Muddle the cherries in a cocktail shaker with a muddler and crust them up. Add tequila, lime juice and agave syrup. Shake well, pour over ice and enjoy!!
