Bright Spring Florals by James’ Daughter
Both the West Coast and East Coast floral scenes are incredibly strong. While I get to interact and collaborate more with florists on this side of the country, I always love meeting and and breathing in the work of those from across it, too. Lisa Przystup of the Brooklyn-based James’ Daughter recently spent some time in LA, and we took advantage of her stay by creating a few special arrangements using spring florals.
Lisa told me, “the LA Flower Mart had the most beautiful, lush and vibrant roses so I, of course, couldn’t resist using them in the arrangement.” (Tip: Go with the blooms you’re most drawn to in the market.) To build her creation she used ranunculus, amaryllis, lisanthium, tulips, spirea, carnations and roses, all in a gorgeous, bright palette of peaches, pinks, corals and citrus hues. “I was inspired by the ridiculously warm and sunny California weather,” Lisa said, “and I wanted to tap into that idea of warmth and the promise of spring.” The result truly makes the season come alive.
