Autumn Entertaining: A FEED Supper with Lauren Bush Lauren – The Decor
When I first learned about FEED, an organization founded by Lauren Bush Lauren whose mission is to create good products that help feed the world, I couldn’t help but be inspired – and get involved. Founded in 2007, this incredible organization has provided nearly 90 million meals to those in need through the sale of bags, apparel, and accessories, by building a set donation into the cost of each product. In addition, two years ago they began calling upon the community to host FEED Suppers, harnessing the power of group giving – and a great dinner party – to help those in need. I was honored to host such a gathering last year (our fundraising supper seen here) and so moved by the experience that I knew I wanted to host one this year as well.
For this year’s supper, I was thrilled to host alongside Lauren herself, and the evening was so special – a laid-back and intimate dinner in the garden with friends, in support of a wonderful cause. Equally amazing was the support we received from so many in making this dinner happen. Our decor featured an incredible spread generously donated by West Elm (who has created a beautiful collaboration with FEED) alongside gorgeous florals from Kristen Caissie of Moon Canyon, menus and FEED fact cards from Paperchase Press and designer Natalie Kalinowski, and farm tables and bar from Found Rentals. Adding to the generosity was the lovely Barrett of Valleybrink Road, who provided our beyond-delicious meal for the evening, as well inspired cocktails from Pharmacie LA, and a decadent dessert from The Scootabaker.
The evening was everything that I had hoped it would be and more, and we were able to raise the equivalent of over 10,000 meals, bringing FEED one step closer to reaching its goal of providing 2 million meals during the month-long Supper initiative. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the amazing vendors who so generously contributed to our supper: West Elm, Valleybrink Road, Moon Canyon, Pharmacie LA, The Scootabaker, Paperchase Press, Natalie Kalinowski, Found Rentals, FEED Projects and of course the attendees – without your support this would not have been possible! See below for all of the decor elements, and stay tuned tomorrow for all the menu details. XXJKE
