I can’t think of a more quintessential cool weather cocktail than the Hot Toddy, and this version – expertly adapted by the amazing Sarah Elliott – takes the classic to next-level status. Pairing apple brandy, honey, water, lemon and cinnamon sticks, the Apple Brandy Hot Toddy is an insanely yummy warm-me-up, perfect for sipping at a bonfire or tree lighting (transported, of course, in my favorite Sol Y Luna leather thermos). Apple Brandy Hot Toddy Recipe

  • 1 1/2 cup 355 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons honey plus 2 teaspoons
  • 1/2 cup 118 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cup 473 ml apple brandy preferably Calvados
  • 8 3-inch cinnamon sticks

In small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the honey until dissolved. Stir in the lemon juice and apple brandy. Set a cinnamon stick in each of 8 mugs or heatproof glasses, pour in the hot liquid and serve.
