A Fall Luncheon with Le Catch and Jessica De Ruiter

Nothing is better in the late summer than a casual, outdoor meal with friends, complete with delicious food and plenty of shade. And the with the launch of my fall collection coming up, we had a perfect excuse to plan one. Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch and Jessica De Ruiter, who hosted the event in her beautiful Silver Lake home, were my cohosts and we invited a few close friends to join in on the fun. 

We wanted to create a really natural, rustic table that felt like fall, without overdoing it. We started with gorgeous Hale Mercantile Co linens and used Farmhouse Pottery Plates, Bitters Co glasses, and Canvas Home cutlery for the place settings. The table-setting elements are all items we’re carrying this season, and I couldn’t wait to use them for one of our events. The Twig & Twine florals brought the whole table to life. Heather, who owns the company, used a mix of flowers, foliage, and fruit to give the arrangements a fall feel. I love the way she used vine, pears, and lychees on the table as well. It made the table feel really lush and gorgeous.

For food we turned to Silver Lake favorite Sqirl, who put together a delicious family-style meal that was hearty but also light and healthful. They served their signature vegan “Kabbouleh” salad, Koda Farm brown rice with dill and Barbari bread, baked white fish with turmeric, and grilled broccolini with chili chimichurri. The dessert was an amazing gluten- and dairy-free hazelnut torte with juicy Blenheim apricots. XXJKE
